Tribal Commanders

Early precursors to the new rules on battlefield leaders, the tribal commanders in The Guards each had the ability to incite civilian tribal units to take up arms and join the fray. These tribal leaders were not members of any one tribe, but rather the occasional charismatic leader that emerges with the capability of crossing tribal loyalties to meld them all into a fighting force. These leaders are not necesarily tacticians, but rather orators who inspire their followers to battle.

The tribal leaders were among the first units to represent a single personality on the battlfield, with their personal retinues in tow. Battlefield leaders are identified by their name in place of call sign.
